Our Story
Three Generations of Lancashire Farming
Over 100 years of family farming - from our field to your fork.
Taylors Farm Shop is a family business that has been farming for over 100 years. Now in our third generation, we continue to be dedicated to producing high quality produce right here in Lathom, Lancashire.
The current generation - Roger, Bernie, Andrew and Joe - took over in 1987 when the previous proprietor retired. Initially the operation focused on raising livestock, primarily Limousin, Charolais, and Belgian Blue X cattle.
During the agricultural crises of the BSE and foot-and-mouth era, the family pivoted toward retail diversification. They began processing beef in their kitchen for friends and relatives, eventually opening to the public on weekends with a modest 3-foot counter.
From our kitchen table to the premises you see today - we've grown from that small beginning into an award-winning farm shop, but our values have never changed. Every piece of meat on our counter, every vegetable on our shelves, reflects our commitment to quality, local sourcing, and the Lancashire community.
